South Africa's athletes delivered a commanding performance at the 10th All-Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique, securing their position at the top of the medal table with an impressive haul of 61 gold, 35 silver, and 40 bronze medals — 136 medals in total.

The South African team excelled across multiple disciplines, with particularly strong showings in athletics, swimming, and cycling. Star performers included Caster Semenya in the 800 metres, while the swimming team contributed significantly to the gold medal count at the Zimpeto aquatic facilities.

This dominant performance underscored South Africa's status as the continent's sporting powerhouse, finishing well ahead of second-placed Egypt (32 golds) and third-placed Nigeria (31 golds). The margin of victory was one of the largest in recent All-Africa Games history.
